Dr. Pérez has an academic background in clinical and social psychology, disciplines that were his training ground in qualitative and quantitative research. Reflecting ancillary training at the Yale School of Management, the alignment of research goals to business objectives is paramount in each one of his projects. His working career has been fully devoted to market research. Working for a wide range of clients over the past 14 years, he has developed a specialty in Hispanic markets. Early in his market research career, Dr. Pérez held positions at specialty market research firms. At JTWack & Company (New Haven, Connecticut), he conducted customer satisfaction projects for hospitals and private schools. At Jupiter Media Metrix (now Comscore Media Metrix), he helped understand the adoption of new technologies in Latin America while overseeing online audience research methodology in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America. In addition, he spent two years at Consumer Reports, where he conducted research on magazine readers and their experiences with appliances and electronics. |
| At Utilis, Dr. Pérez has managed projects for corporate consumer marketers, advertising agencies, marketing clients, research companies, professional organizations, and non-profit groups. He enjoys moderating focus groups, conducting survey research, and developing sound strategic recommendations. His growing industry experience includes airlines, automotive, beverages, beer, cable television systems, consumer electronics, consumer publications, direct selling, education, financial services, health care, household appliances, human services, packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, real estate, technology, telecom, and television. Dr. Pérez is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. He earned his Psychology Ph.D. degree at Yale University, where he was awarded a Ford Foundation Fellowship. He is a RIVA-trained focus group moderator. |
